In other news, I am not nearly as tired this week. I have taken a few two hour naps, and it is very good. The bad news is, I have a cold. Ugh. But it is starting to slowly disappear. My nose is only slightly stuffy, but I have a cough now. I swear, I get a cold at least once a month. I haven't had the stomach flu for years, but I ALWAYS get colds. They are always just enough to be incredibly annoying and disgusting, but almost never enough to get me out of school. I guess that could be a good thing, considering my grades, but still. Is it too much to ask to just go one month without a cold?

Life in General
So, my grades have improved somewhat, and I am quite happy about it. No change in math though. :( But after missing lunch on Wednesday to take the history test I had missed, I got my grade in that class back up to what it was before - an A-. Which just so happens to be what I got on the test. In Driver's Ed, apparently she forgot to tell me about a little thing called a test review that also just so happened to count for points. Whoops. She still hasn't put it in the computer. My grade in that class at the moment is a B+, but it may go down, depending on how much points it is worth. My guess is that it will drop to a B or a B-. Not very fun.

Fail
So, last Thursday we took a field trip for Journalism to UVU for a Journalism Conference thing... It was pretty intense. But the only problem was, it was on a really bad day. I had Drivers Ed, which wasn't that bad to miss, but my grade still dropped from an A- to a B+. Next I had History with Mrs. Kelley, which doesn't sound like it would be a big deal, but in fact on that very day there just so happened to be the end of unit WWI test. I missed it. My grade in that class dropped from an A- to a C+. Not really happy about that...
After that I had math. Yes, yes, dramatic music, and all that. Dun dun dun...
But it wasn't really too bad. Well, actually, shouldn't say anything, because I haven't been back there yet, and I know for sure that I missed at least one quiz and a homework assignment. I was already failing that class, and now it is worse. Crap.
But, I do have two homework assignments to turn in today, and that may bring it up a few percent. Not enough to fix it, of course, but maybe to help. All I need to do is take it up 15% or so, and it should switch over to a C-. Maybe Mr. Frost will take pity on me and help me out.
I can only hope.

Valentine Weekend
So, I feel like such a smart person. Sunday was Valentine's Day, and I didn't even know until I got to church and my Young Women's leader wished me happy Valentine's Day. It took me a while to register that she was talking about that day. After that it seemed obvious. Tons of people were wearing purple, red, and pink. Also black, for some reason. Pretty much everyone had something black on, including me. I was wearing a purple shirt too, so I blended pretty well. We even got Valentine's treats at the end of the lesson.
Yesterday my 16-month-old niece was over. She was being super cute. She went into Shawn's room and got out the Spiderman book that she likes, and was able to point him out on every page. She has gotten quite good at it. She calls him Nanan. Ryan also has a singing/dancing Spiderman that sings "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." She knows the actions and she does them. It is so funny.
On Saturday she came over too, and it was so funny what she did. I was laying on my mom's bed, and she came over, so I lifted her up by me, and she plopped down face down like I had been. It looked like her arm was stuck underneath her, so I said, "Avalyn, is your arm stuck?" And she lifted her other arm up as high as it would go and started laughing. I started laughing too, and she came and started climbing all over me. After that she was pointing out stuff, like eyes and nose and ears and whatnot. When she is pointing out her own eyes, she just jabs both fingers right in her eyes, but when she shows other people their eyes, she is all gentle and slow and soft. She barely touches you. It is funny. She is so sweet!

Chuck
It is pretty much about this civilian guy named Chuck who got a government supercomputer downloaded into his brain without his meaning to, and the government can't get it out so they send two people to protect him. People try to find him to get the secrets that are in his head and so Sarah and Casey (the two people that protect Chuck) have to save him. So it is a spy show, and it is getting soooo intense now that it is season three. So much stuff has been happening, and now I am mad because it won't be on for a few weeks because of the olympics.
I just don't know if I can make it that long.

Need for Speed
So, on Saturday after my ward's basketball game (which we won) I went driving with my parents. Both of them at the same time. I don't know if that was a good idea, since my dad kept teasing me and my mom was trying to get him to stop and trying to keep me from freaking out. It wasn't working all that well. I made a small mistake, and I started to drive home because I didn't really want to kill anyone that day. My dad pretty much forced me to turn around and go onto Geneva Road. That is faster than I have ever gone. Both of my parents agreed that I was a better driver so far than any of the other kids.
I finally got off Geneva and started to head home, but then I suggested getting a reward for my good driving and my parents said yes. So I drove to Ridley's and got one, then I went home.
That is another thing. What the crap is with Ridley's? What was wrong with Albertsons? I know some people bought it up, but I don't think they should have. I liked Albertsons. Of course, Maceys is still the best, but they had some good things at Albertsons.
So, no more ghetto Albertsons brand cereal or whatever. How sad!
